"On whom his favour rests" - a Christmas poem

I wrote this poem several years ago and revised it recently. Christmas always brings back childhood memories for me; this is just one of many. I hope you enjoy it.

  1. As an adult, I recognized the effort your father put forth so that you could enjoy life.

    1. Yes, I think it's only possible to recognize such things in retrospect. Thank you for reading and commenting, Gayle.

    1. I am sure that your kids will have those kinds of recollections in days to come, Tim. I don't think we can possibly realize the significance of our parents' sacrifices when we're young; we just take everything as given. And of course there is a special kind of privilege in even being ABLE to take good things as "given"; not everyone has that kind of upbringing. But I am grateful.
